When the Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service wanted to “train up” their 4wd skills, they called on Nena Barlow to help provide training in 4wd operations and recovery for their field staff, as well as training managers to create their own in-house 4wd training program.

The Ask

Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service staff need to operate in the backcountry in all kinds of conditions. They needed to learn to get their staff into and back out of the back country in many different types of 4wd SUV’s and pickup trucks.

The Solution

Barlow Adventures provided comprehensive 4wd training in a variety of vehicles, terrain and scenarios, along with safe and effective recovery techniques for the most common scenarios. This training continues, and now includes training trainers so they can run their own in-house programs.
