Description: This course is hands-on training for driving in soft terrain (the cinders are soft), trail etiquette, and basic soft terrain vehicle recovery. Learn how to read trails and analyze obstacles. Learn how to anticipate how your vehicle will react in different circumstances.
Optional: Join us at camp on Friday night for tips and tricks on camping in the backcountry.
Previous experience (i.e., 100 Explorers or other Barlow courses) is strongly recommended.
Location: Flagstaff, AZ
Vehicle requirements: 4x4s and 4x4 EVs are welcome. A working spare tire and recovery points are required. No Roof-Top Tents or low-hanging side steps.
Course Requirements: Register in advance. Participants must be 18 or older.
Course length: 6-7 hours/day
